We will be cycling
through the charming towns of Slovenian Istria, meandering through their
squares and narrow streets, proceeding along the route of the old Parenzana
railway line – The Path of Health and Friendship, among olive groves and
vineyards, admiring breathtaking panoramic views from Italy and the Alps via
Slovenia to Croatia. We will enjoy a stop between the Forma Viva stone
sculptures and the Sečovlje Salina Landscape Park. Along the way we will make a
quick brake to taste the local delicacies of Istria in the selected restaurant.
We will visit the most popular spots and hidden places with electric bikes on Slovenian coast in 5 hours.
TThe first longer
stop will be at the authentic brewery, where we will learn about the production
and taste one of the best beers on the Slovenian Coast. Since one cannot say to
have experienced the real Istria without tasting the prosciutto and the
truffles, we will enjoy a cold and warm appetizer: prosciutto and sheep cheese
and pasta with truffles.
From the brewery
overlooking Croatia, the route will lead us past the Sečovlje salt pans with a
700-year tradition of sea salt production. We will cycle through the
cosmopolitan town of Portorož, named by the numerous roses growing in its
gardens. The route will lead us through the longest tunnel of the former
railway line, which used to connect Trieste and Poreč.
From the Istrian
hinterland, electric bicycles will take us to the coast, where we will be
pampered with seafood delicacies in the selected restaurant. You will be served
a cold seafood greeting from the kitchen and a main fish dish. These fish
dishes will be best accompanied by the exquisite house wine Malvasia.
At the end of the
tour, be prepared for a sweet surprise, which will be served in an excellent
confectionery in Slovenian Venice – the town of Piran.
