Ride a Vespa through the olive groves of Slovenian Istria
Your adventure will begin with a short introduction to the Vespas in Piran at 8:30 am. Once you have been briefed on all the details and are ready to set off, you will ride your Vespas with your guide through the picturesque Istrian countryside towards Gramona Farm. Along the way, you will enjoy views of vineyards, olive groves and beautiful landscapes that make the Istrian countryside so special.
Your destination is the Gramona estate, where your welcoming hosts will introduce you to the olive-growing tradition of Slovenian Istria and show you how olives are harvested, along with the equipment and tools used in the process. You will also have the opportunity to join them in picking olives and discover first-hand how olive oil production begins and how much care and effort go into producing a high-quality product.
From olive picking to an Istrian lunch
After your work is done, you will recharge with a delicious Istrian lunch, prepared at Gramona Farm using tasty local ingredients. Your hosts will also introduce you to different varieties of olive oil, whose distinctive characteristics and flavours you will discover during a guided tasting.
To make sure the experience stays with you long after your visit, you will also receive a small gift at the end of the day. Full of new impressions and experiences, you will hop back on your Vespas and ride towards Piran.
The experience lasts approximately 6–7 hours, with arrival back in Piran expected between 3:00 pm and 3:30 pm.
In a single day, you will combine a Vespa ride, authentic encounters with local people, hands-on work in an olive grove, local cuisine and the story of one of the most precious products of Slovenian Istria – olive oil.
