Parking in Piran and Portorož – everything you need to know

Planning a visit to picturesque Piran or lively Portorož? Don’t worry about where to park – both destinations are well-equipped to welcome visitors arriving by car or tourist bus.

There are plenty of organized parking areas, electric charging stations, and special benefits for people with disabilities. Discover where you can leave your vehicle with peace of mind and enjoy the beauty of Portorož & Piran.

Driving to Piran

As Piran’s historic centre is largely closed to traffic, we recommend leaving your car in the Amfora parking garage, located just outside the town centre. From there, you can take an electric minibus to Tartini Square for EUR 1. Visitors may enter the town free of charge for up to 15 minutes to drop off passengers and luggage; longer stays are charged according to the current tariff: EUR 6.00 per commenced hour from 1 March to 31 October and EUR 4.00 per hour from 1 November to 28 February.

Tourist buses

Piran

There is no dedicated parking area for tourist coaches in Piran. Coaches may drive to the bus stop on Dantejeva Street to drop off or pick up passengers and may remain there for a maximum of 30 minutes. A single entry into the restricted town centre costs EUR 10.00; exceeding the permitted time is charged at EUR 120.00. A single daily entry for coaches transporting guests from cruise ships and other vessels costs EUR 150.00.

Marina Portorož

For longer stays, tourist coaches can use the large car park in front of Marina Portorož, located at Cesta solinarjev 8, 6320 Portorož. Entry and parking for up to 15 minutes are free of charge; after this period, parking is charged according to the current pricelist. The car park is managed by Terme Čatež d. d.
