Peter Klepec: Puppet musical based on the well-known fairy tale about important values for children
8 July 2026, at 8:00 p.m.
The puppet and music performance Peter Klepec is a playful, musical and heartfelt show inspired by France Bevk’s beloved folk tale about a small boy who overcomes every obstacle with kindness, courage and unwavering determination.
Peter Klepec sets off to earn his living on a farm, where he soon becomes the target of ridicule and exploitation by stronger peers. Although he is the smallest among them, he refuses to give in to injustice. By his side stands a loyal friend – a brave ram whom everyone respects and, at the same time, fears a little.
In a way children can understand, the performance addresses important themes such as peer violence, friendship, courage and accepting differences. Its message is that true strength does not come from muscles, but from kindness, honesty and a warm heart.
Enriched with lively songs, engaging puppet animation, humour and a suspenseful story, the performance is a true musical adventure for the whole family. Children will be delighted by the adventures of Peter Klepec, while adults will recognise the important values woven into the story.
Confusion for Two Bears: A physical theatre comedy
15 July 2026, at 8:00 p.m.
Confusion for Two Bears is a charming and playful physical theatre comedy that takes children to a sunny forest clearing, where a tiny ant lives peacefully in an old tree stump. But her everyday life is turned upside down when two clumsy bears appear with one goal in mind – to claim a delicious, ripe pear.
When the ant also starts craving the tasty fruit, a true comedy of confusion begins. Through a series of funny complications, imaginative movement scenes, rhythmic music and plenty of humour, we follow a race for a little piece of happiness, in which everyone searches for their own way to reach the goal.
But the story also carries an important message. When the heroes face a challenge, they discover that friendship and cooperation are much sweeter than any pear. In a playful, dynamic and interactive way, the performance encourages imagination and teaches children through laughter, movement and music that together we can achieve much more.
Refreshing Rimonada: A poetry-theatre performance by one of Slovenia’s most important children’s authors, Andrej Rozman Roza
22 July 2026, at 8:00 p.m.
Roza’s Poems for Children is a high-quality theatre performance based on the works of Andrej Rozman Roza, one of the most prominent and important Slovenian creators for children. For decades, his works have delighted young readers and audiences and are considered among the finest and most beloved achievements of contemporary Slovenian creativity for children and young people. With his characteristic wit, playfulness and masterful feel for language, Roza creates worlds that entertain children while encouraging their imagination, curiosity and love of words.
But this is no ordinary poetry recital. The poems come to life through theatre, puppets, props, mime and direct interaction with children, who become an important part of the performance. Some of Roza’s most popular poems come alive on stage – from the legendary Fear and the funny Macaroni from the collection Rimanice za predgospodiče, to short poems about unusual oddballs and the magical Water Romance, which for a long time was available only to readers of the magazine Ciciban. Some of the poems were also released on a music CD of the same name.
The performance encourages children to listen, participate, laugh and discover the richness of the Slovenian language. It is a real treat for little curious minds who love funny stories, unusual characters and lots of laughter.
The Magic Key: A didactic theatre and music performance
29 July 2026, at 8:00 p.m.
Children embark on an unforgettable musical adventure in the company of Damjana Golavšek, one of Slovenia’s most recognisable and beloved creators for children. Through play, humour and an engaging story, they learn the basics of music, develop their ear, sense of rhythm, creativity and confidence in expression.
The performance combines theatre, music, singing, movement and active audience participation into a unique interactive experience. Children become part of the story: they sing, clap, take part, explore and help create the musical world on stage.
In the magical Land of Music, every note tells its own story and every instrument hides a special secret. It is also home to the mischievous little elf Muzikalček, guardian of the musical treasury, who uses a magical treble clef to open the door to a fairy-tale world of melodies, rhythms and musical discoveries.
Together with Muzikalček, children explore the rich world of musical instruments – they listen to how string instruments gently tell their stories, how percussion instruments beat like a heart, how wind instruments sound like a playful breeze and how keyboards create very special musical magic. In the end, they discover the most wonderful instrument of all – their own voice.
