The Michelin Guide has included Hotel Palace Portorož in its global selection of recommended hotels for 2026. With this, Portorož joins the Slovenian destinations with accommodation establishments recommended by Michelin inspectors to guests from around the world.
On 18 September, the Michelin Guide presented its global hotel selection for 2026. Among more than 9,000 recommended hotels worldwide are also 24 properties from Slovenia, with Hotel Palace Portorož among the new additions.
The inclusion represents an important recognition of the quality of the hotel offering in the Portorož and Piran destination and of its presence in the internationally renowned Michelin Guide.
When selecting hotels, Michelin inspectors assess, among other things, architecture and interior design, the quality and consistency of service, the character of the property, value for money, and its connection with the local environment and destination.
In addition to Hotel Palace Portorož, this year’s new Slovenian additions to the Michelin selection include Vila Pavlina, Triangel Boutique Hotel and Milka Boutique Hotel in Kranjska Gora, April1550 Boutique Hotel and Hotel Heritage in Ljubljana, and DeGrassi Boutique Garni Hotel in Izola.
Five Slovenian hotels also hold a Michelin Key, a special distinction for exceptional hotel experiences. Hotel Palace Portorož is currently included in the Michelin recommended hotel selection but is not among the recipients of a Michelin Key.
