Fiesa is much more than a popular place for swimming and relaxing by the sea. It is an area of outstanding natural beauty, where two lakes, native flora and fauna, impressive flysch cliffs and a rich underwater world come together. As part of the ❤️Love Piran initiative, we are continuing our awareness-raising efforts with the location-specific ❤️Love Fiesa campaign, bringing Fiesa’s natural treasures closer to visitors and residents and encouraging everyone to treat them with care.
A clear trilingual leaflet in Slovenian, Italian and English is now available to beachgoers and other visitors to Fiesa. Its central message is simple: Enjoy – Respect. It invites us to explore, admire and experience Fiesa while helping to preserve its wild beauty through our actions.
Natural treasures that deserve our care
The Fiesa Lakes are a natural monument and a precious habitat for numerous plant and animal species. The area is also home to rare and shy wildlife, so please observe animals respectfully, from a safe distance and without disturbing them.
The seaside walk from Fiesa to Piran offers beautiful views, while marked trails guide visitors through the sensitive coastal landscape. One of the area’s defining features is its impressive flysch cliffs. Due to the fragility of the rock, they are constantly shaped by natural processes and require particular care.
The world beneath the sea is no less precious. Fish, crabs, shellfish and other marine creatures are not toys or souvenirs. They are part of a living ecosystem and should remain in their natural habitat.
Small actions make a big difference
Through simple and easy-to-understand icons, the leaflet highlights how every visitor can help protect Fiesa:
- do not feed or disturb wild birds and other animals;
- do not climb trees, especially protected Aleppo pines;
- camp only in designated areas;
- never leave cigarette butts or other litter in nature;
- do not use shampoos or other toiletries in outdoor showers;
- do not remove marine organisms from their natural habitat;
- dispose of your waste properly;
- keep dogs on a leash and always pick up after them.
The campaign is not simply about drawing attention to inappropriate behaviour. Above all, it is an invitation to discover Fiesa in a respectful and responsible way. Visitors and residents alike are both its guests and its guardians.
Fiesa never ceases to enchant us with its green surroundings, tranquil lakes, picturesque coastline and vibrant sea. Together, let us keep it safe, clean and authentic for future generations.
Love Fiesa. Enjoy it. Respect it.
