With its new improvements, Fiesa has become greener, tidier and more accessible, while preserving its distinctive natural character. Visitors can now enjoy additional green spaces, improved walking paths, renovated sports and play areas, and upgraded infrastructure for pleasant moments by the sea.
As part of the project, 6,000 square metres of land were greened and 58 native trees were planted. Eight invasive tree-of-heaven specimens were removed, along with 60 cubic metres of concrete.
The works did not affect protected areas but focused on existing public spaces and deteriorated infrastructure. The natural features, waterside vegetation and distinctive character of Fiesa have been preserved and further enhanced with additional greenery, natural materials and carefully planned improvements.
The new walking paths are paved with natural local sandstone, while the children’s playground and volleyball court have also been renovated. The sanitary facilities are now accessible to people with reduced mobility, dedicated areas for divers have been created, and two nature observation points have been installed beside the lake.
Relocating the existing food and beverage facility to a paved area has created additional space for greenery. An irrigation system has been installed to ensure the efficient maintenance of the new planting, while visitors can also use a drinking fountain and new outdoor showers.
The renovation also included upgrades to the public utilities and the replacement of the deteriorated water supply system. Following the completion of the first phase, the promenade between the campsite and the beach was also improved.
The landscaping works in Fiesa were valued at €778,639.99 including VAT, while the promenade improvements cost €92,000 including VAT. The investment received €499,232.32 in regional development funding intended for green and sustainable spatial infrastructure.
Renovated Fiesa remains true to its character – a natural and pleasant seaside setting that is now even greener, safer and more welcoming to all visitors.
