Piran offers visitors a new free creative experience that combines city exploration, art, and a personal memory of the visit. The “Nika’s Postcard” project invites visitors to create a unique postcard illustration of the city by collecting stamps at three of Piran’s most iconic locations during their walk.
The experience is based on collaboration with artist Nika Štegel, creator of the brand Nika’s tiny house, who has been creating recognizable artworks from driftwood for over a decade. Her work and studio in Piran are now among the city’s most recognizable local stories, and the project offers visitors a different, more personal way of discovering the town.
Participants can pick up a free postcard at the Tourist Information Centre, the Nika’s tiny house studio, or at individual stamp locations. During their visit to the Maritime Museum, Tartini House, and St. George’s Church, they gradually complete the illustrated postcard of Piran, which they can keep as a souvenir or send to loved ones.
The project encourages exploring the city on foot, visiting cultural landmarks, and creating authentic experiences that connect local art, cultural heritage, and sustainable tourism. It represents an innovative approach to interpreting space and involving visitors in the story of the destination.
