Hotel Lucija begins a new story with four stars after renovation

In Portorož, the fully renovated Hotel Lucija has reopened, entering the four-star category after an almost €10 million investment. This represents one of the largest investments in Slovenian coastal tourism this year, through which the owners of Hoteli Metropol have significantly improved service quality and infrastructure.

The hotel, built in 1964, is one of the oldest in Portorož. After several partial renovations, a comprehensive refurbishment began last year in two phases – first the common areas, and this year all rooms, the kitchen, conference hall, wellness, and pool complex.

The renovation brings a modern, bright, and functional ambiance that preserves the character of an accessible seaside destination. The focus is on a peaceful stay, combining relaxation with active leisure. Guests can enjoy an indoor seawater pool, wellness facilities, and a fitness center.

The hotel also remains family-friendly, offering a kids’ club, a space for teenagers, and well-maintained outdoor areas by the sea.

One of its key advantages is its location between Portorož and Piran, with direct access to the promenade, sports facilities, and the Portorož Sports Park. The hotel is also an excellent starting point for cycling trips.

With this investment, the aim is to extend the season and improve business performance. The hotel, which previously operated حوالي nine months a year, now targets ten- or eleven-month operations.

The renovated Hotel Lucija represents an important upgrade to the destination’s tourism offering, combining tradition, modern comfort, and a sustainably oriented stay experience.
