Tartini Festival 2026 – Il Terzo Suono & Alfredo Bernardini, Baroque Oboe

The concert will focus on the Baroque oboe, strings and harpsichord, with a selected programme of works by Antonio Vivaldi, Joan Baptista Pla, Giuseppe Tartini, Johann Gottlieb Janitsch and Giovanni Benedetto Platti. At its heart will be a blend of virtuosity, rich basso continuo and the distinctive sound of Baroque music.

Performing will be renowned Baroque oboe specialist Alfredo Bernardini, violinists Gianpiero Zanocco and Iveta Schwarz, violist Danka Nikolić, cellist Milan Vrsajkov and harpsichordist Konstantin Hiller.

A special feature of the evening will be the performance on a harpsichord, a copy of an instrument by Carlo Grimaldi from 1697, made in the workshop of Winfried Hackl. The instrument will make an important contribution to the historically informed sound and artistically convincing interpretation of the programme.

Alfredo Bernardini is regarded as one of the world’s leading specialists in the Baroque oboe. He studied in the Netherlands and has performed with the most prestigious early music ensembles, including Hespèrion XX, Le Concert des Nations, La Petite Bande, Amsterdam Baroque Orchestra, Freiburger Barockorchester, The English Concert and Bach Collegium Japan. He has taken part in more than 100 recordings and, in 1989, co-founded the ensemble Zefiro, winner of numerous international awards.

The concert will be performed by the international ensemble Il Terzo Suono, which has brought together musicians from various European orchestras since 2005 and also performs repertoire on Baroque instruments. The ensemble regularly appears at major European festivals and collaborates with distinguished soloists such as Sergio Azzolini, Giuliano Carmignola, Christophe Coin, Mario Brunello, Vladimir Mendelssohn and others.

The evening will offer a refined encounter between Tartini’s musical heritage, Italian Baroque and historically informed performance practice.
