Terrafolk blends folk music with elements of classical, rock and world music in its own distinctive way. The group approaches tradition playfully and unconventionally, while maintaining respect for the original material. Terrafolk is known for its energetic performances, where humour and improvisation play an important role – building bridges between different musical worlds and generations.
Their distinctive style was recognised in 2003 with the international BBC World Music Award. They have performed in most European countries and appeared at festivals including the EBU Folk Music Festival, Edinburgh Fringe, Glastonbury, Panonnica, Druga godba and Festival Maribor. Between 2004 and 2013, they created several projects with orchestras, ranging from the RTV Slovenia Symphony Orchestra and the Jena Philharmonic to the Simbolični Orchestra, established specifically for this purpose.
