The concert cabaret, based on the album Brezmejna, is an omnibus of original short stories presented through original poetry set to music. They are the work of Jure Ivanušič – actor, director, screenwriter, musician and chansonnier – in collaboration with the band NORDunk. The collection of ten chansons combines intimate cabaret with rock energy, a cinematic atmosphere and symphonic richness. The album was almost two decades in the making; some of the songs were newly completed, while others are entirely new, and the RTV Slovenia Symphony Orchestra also took part in the recording. With a chanson from this album, they won the Slovenian Chanson Festival in 2025.
The evening unfolds as a provocative theatrical performance filled with irony and satire. The artists explore themes faced by modern individuals: modern-day slavery, superficial relationships, rebellion and conformism, poverty, violence, and the fear of life and wasted time. A kaleidoscope of human emotions unfolds before us, ranging from love and passion to inner anxiety and unfulfilled dreams.
