Olive Harvest at Tona’s House in Sv. Peter

The Sergej Mašera Maritime Museum Piran invites you to an olive harvest, a presentation and tasting of crushed olives, and a free visit to the Tona’s House Ethnological Collection.

On Saturday, 24 October 2026, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, olives will be harvested in the small olive grove at Tona’s House. Join us and try different harvesting methods from the past and present. During this time, admission to the Tona’s House Ethnological Collection will be free. There you can learn more about olive oil production and life in the rural areas of Slovenian Istria in the past.

Harvesters will be offered Istrian minestrone with homemade bread and dessert, while the best harvesters will also be rewarded with olive oil. Nadja Bažec will present the traditional preparation of crushed olives. Olive oil and olive products will also be available for purchase.

You are warmly invited!

In case of rain, the event will be postponed.
