Meetings in Piran: Mitja Guštin

You are warmly invited on Tuesday, 3 November, at 6:30 PM to a meeting with archaeologist Mitja Guštin, professor emeritus and a native of Piran. The conversation with the guest will be led by Ana Bembič and will focus on his connection with Piran, his work, and his new books about Portorož.

Mitja Guštin is an expert on the Celtic period in the Eastern Alps and on medieval and early modern archaeology. He played an important role at the Posavje Museum, served as head of the Department of Archaeology at the Faculty of Arts in Ljubljana, and actively contributed to the establishment and development of programmes at the University of Primorska in the field of cultural heritage. Although his studies and career took him elsewhere, he has remained closely connected to the Primorska region and especially to Piran, where he grew up.

Organizer: Piran City Library
