The 2026 Istrian Cycling Marathon returns to Slovenian Istria this year, with Izola hosting the event on 26 and 27 September 2026. The main venue will be the asphalt area by the shipyard, while the routes will take participants through numerous places in the hinterland of Slovenian Istria.
The event is intended for all lovers of cycling, recreation, active leisure and Istrian cuisine. In addition to the cycling routes, the programme will be enriched with accompanying activities for families, children and visitors.
This year’s novelty is an additional bike skills competition, which will take place on Saturday at 2 p.m. and is intended for children aged 7 to 12. The traditional Kapko Mini Marathon, suitable for the youngest children aged 0 to 6, also remains part of the programme. For marathon participants, a special accommodation offer has also been prepared in cooperation with Hoteli Bernardin, including packages with registration fee and accommodation. The package can be selected when registering for the event.
The event will also feature the Istrian Market, where local providers of cuisine, crafts and other services will be able to present themselves. As part of the cooperation with municipalities, presentation at the market is available to providers free of charge.
