The popular clothing, book and fashion accessory swap is back! This year, the event is organised in cooperation with Okolje Piran, and will take place at the open-air market in Lucija.
Saturday, 10 October, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM
Bring clothes, books or fashion accessories you no longer need and give them a new life. For every item you bring, you will receive a coupon that you can exchange for another item at the swap.
How does the swap work?
For every item you bring, you receive a coupon. You can then use it to choose another item you like. It is a simple way to refresh your wardrobe or bookshelf while helping reduce waste and supporting more sustainable consumption.
Repair workshop with Naja Stanič
Naja Stanič from 2. skica will also join the event and lead a clothing repair workshop.
At her corner, you will be able to get help with:
- shortening trousers, skirts and T-shirts,
- taking in clothes,
- replacing buttons,
- mending tears,
- replacing elastic,
- replacing zips,
- simple clothing alterations and upcycling.
If you would like to replace a zip, please bring a new one of the same length and type as the original – for example, separating, non-separating, concealed or visible.
You will also be able to explore creative ways of transforming clothes – trousers can become a skirt, while a T-shirt can be turned into something completely new.
“Make a Pencil Case” workshop
With Barbara, you will be able to cut and sew your own simple pencil case and try the basics of sewing.
Time to Move: sustainability and active citizenship
The event is also part of Eurodesk’s Time to Move campaign, which this year highlights, among other topics, active citizenship and sustainability.
Young people are involved in preparing the event, while the clothing swap is one of the practical sustainable activities through which each individual can contribute to more responsible use of resources.
International volunteers from the European Solidarity Corps will also take part. If you are interested in gaining experience abroad, volunteering or international opportunities for young people, you will be able to ask them for information and hear more about their experiences first-hand.
Come along, swap, repair, create and take a step with us towards a more sustainable everyday life.
