Mediadom Pyrhani – multimedia museum and cultural center in Piran

Once the venue of the first concerts of Piran’s music school, today Mediadom Pyrhani serves as a crossroads of many paths leading into Piran. It offers visitors multimedia presentations that take them through 20 centuries of Piran’s history, from antiquity to the present day. You can explore the rich cultural and sacred heritage, artworks, and unique landscape parks.

What does Mediadom Pyrhani offer?

In Mediadom Pyrhani there is a multipurpose hall with space for 50 visitors, suitable for lectures, cinema screenings or concerts, equipped with state-of-the-art technical equipment. With the help of technology and media, even the most distant past becomes extremely interesting, and through concise texts and brilliantly designed films or animations, you can discover and explore the rich history of our charming town of Piran in a vivid and relaxed way.

The centuries in which the salt pans were created and the compact fishing town surrounded by a mighty wall developed, are presented in two excellent animated films with short documentary sequences and an attractive 3D film.

We introduce you to the most prominent personalities of the town, archaeological discoveries, the pillory, and present the most interesting content of cultural institutions as well as traditional festivities and cultural events.

All multimedia content in Mediadom is available in five languages: Slovenian, Italian, English, German and Russian.

The 3D film is available not only in these languages, but also in French, Spanish, Portuguese and Chinese.

Schedule and opening hours

Visits are possible from January to December, with different opening hours depending on the month, while Monday is closed.

Admission fees are available for various age and interest groups, with special discounts for children, students, retirees, and people with special needs.
