SUP paddling to the Moon Bay

The Moon Bay is the pearl of the Slovenian coast: convince yourself about that on a paddleboard. The clear seabed covered with long, plain flysch rocks is home to sea fauna; we won't bother it with our silent paddleboards. Fish flocks and fan mussels can be admired.

Route

The meeting point is the poplar shadow in Salinera beach in Strunjan, where bases are explained and equipment is given to everyone, who is trying paddle boarding for the first time. Then we start towards the seashell farm and take a moment or two for balancing your paddleboard. We say hello to the cormorants who pass the winter here, and we start our 1000 shades of green and blue path towards Moon Bay. It's called 1000 shades of green and blue, because the sea likes to change its colours; because of the diverse seabed and due to the clouds in the sky.

We take the first break in Moon Bay on the highest hill in the Northern Adriatic: The Ronek Cape with its olive groves. The break is perfect for a jump in the sea. As here the sea is clear, we can snorkel and explore the seabed.

The  sun is high, so we pass many boats, anchored by the coast, towards the beach in Belveder. Here we can have a beer under the poplars or grilled dishes. After a 4km route, we can take a rest and enjoy time out. You wouldn't say it was so long, would you?
