Ship Laho

Ship Laho – “Last Hope”, which has sadly sailed into history

Ship Laho, built in 1903 in the Netherlands, carried its story across the seas for more than a century. In recent decades, as a refurbished cultural-gastronomic vessel, it delighted visitors along the Slovenian coast. The name Laho originally meant Last Hope.

For many years, it was a beloved part of Portorož’s atmosphere: panoramic cruises, weddings, business events, special occasions and relaxed gatherings on its spacious deck created countless cherished memories.

Today, the ship Laho is no longer in operation. The vessel was dismantled, losing its physical form – and Portorož symbolically lost its Last Hope.

We are grateful to all who were part of this story and who created unforgettable moments on its deck. Laho will remain in memory as the ship that brought people together and carried a special energy along the Slovenian coast.
