The Portorož Tourist Board, in cooperation with its partners, has created a new winter experience that combines cycling and thermal relaxation in one.
In Portorož and Piran, a new winter Bike & Wellness experience is available, combining a full day of cycling with relaxation at Terme Portorož. The program is designed as a blend of outdoor recreation and regeneration in a warm thermal environment.
Mild Mediterranean winter as an opportunity for activity
Winter in Istria is milder than in the rest of Slovenia, which means the cycling routes remain accessible even in the colder months. Sunny afternoons, a pleasant sea breeze, and beneficial aerosols create excellent conditions for outdoor activity. Regular physical exercise in winter boosts immunity and contributes to overall well-being.
A cycling experience with all necessary equipment
The Bike & Wellness experience includes full-day e-bike rental, available for pickup in the center of Portorož at E-Bike Slovenia between 9:00 and 11:00, and return by 17:00. Upon booking, visitors also receive instructions, a map, GPS files (gpx), a phone holder, and recommended apps for easier navigation.
A guided tour with an experienced cycling guide is also available, ideal for those who prefer to leave the exploration to an expert. Guests can choose between the popular Parenzana route or various circular paths suitable for both beginners and experienced cyclists. For completely individual preferences, a fully customized private tour can be arranged. Assistance during rental is provided in case of technical issues or accidents.
After the tour: relaxation at Terme Portorož
After an active day, guests enjoy a 2-hour visit to Terme Portorož, which includes saunas and swimming in pools with thermo-mineral water. The heat of the saunas helps relieve muscle tension, while the thermal water aids post-activity regeneration.
Reservations
The Bike & Wellness experience is available until 23 December 2025 and can be booked online or in person at the tourist information centers in Portorož and Piran. After the New Year, the offer will be updated and made available again.
