The event More than Avditorij is a professional and creative project that opens a reflection on the future of the Portorož Auditorium and its role within the urban space. As part of the architectural workshops, architecture students, under the mentorship of renowned experts, explored possibilities for a comprehensive renovation and upgrade of the building, while respecting its architectural identity and historical significance.
The project goes beyond a conventional discussion about building renovation. It raises questions about contemporary use of space, sustainability, accessibility, stronger integration with the city, and adaptability to new cultural and congress programmes. The goal is to shape a vision of the Auditorium as an open, dynamic, and multifunctional centre that remains an important part of the city’s vibrant life throughout the year.
The results of the workshops will be presented in the form of an exhibition and public presentation, where visitors will be able to discover fresh ideas and proposals for the development of one of the key cultural venues of Slovenian Istria.
The event takes place within the framework of the Piran Days of Architecture 2025 and brings together professionals, students, and the wider community in a shared reflection on the future of this space.
