The event is the first official public gathering of the year in Slovenia. It is the traditional New Year’s plunge into the sea, which attracts an increasing number of active participants and spectators every New Year’s Day.
The New Year’s swim also carries symbolic meaning – starting the year actively, in a slightly different way, with a plunge into our clean sea. The organisers enrich the event with an accompanying programme and ensure an active warm-up with fun props.
Swimming in water with a temperature of around 10°C has beneficial effects on well-being, circulation and metabolism, and increases resilience and tolerance to various health challenges.
