The event highlights the beauty and biodiversity of Istrian landscape, famous for its stunning autumn sunsets, which with a touch of magic, mirror into the colour of delicious kakis (persimmon fruit). Treat yourself to a day of fun activities and tasting local cuisine.
FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 10

09.00-17.00: free tour of the Strunjan Visitor Centre at the Strunjan Salt Pans
10.00-16.00: market of kakis/persimmons and other delicacies; presentation of the salt-farming family by the Giuseppe Tartini Piran Italian Association
11.00: opening ceremony and blessing of the kaki/persimmon
12.00-13.00: guided tour of the Strunjan salt pans (meeting point: Strunjan fishing harbour, canceled in case of bad weather)
13.00: workshop on the production and use of kaki/persimmon (conference room at Talaso Strunjan)
15.00: workshop on how to dry kakis/persimmons (conference room at Talaso Strunjan) 
16.00: briscolada (contribution 15,00 € includes dinner and prizes)
17.00: competition for the biggest kaki/persimmon of Strunjan
18.00: gathering of local residents on the occasion of the Strunjan local holiday
20.00: entertainment programme
SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 11

09.00-10.00: guided tour of the Strunjan Salt Pans (meeting point at Strunjan fishing harbour - canceled in case of bad weather)
09.00-17.00: free guided tour of the Strunjan Visitor Centre at the Strunjan Salt Pans
10.00-16.00: market of kakis/persimmons and other delicacies; presentation of the salt-farming family
12.00-14.00: art workshops
13.00-14.00: guided tour of the Strunjan salt pans (meeting point: Strunjan fishing port - canceled in case of bad weather)
15.00: workshop on the cultivation and use of kaki/persimmon (Conference room at Talaso Strunjan)
19.00: entertainment programme

09.00: Holy Mass (in the tent - donations will go to those affected by the floods)
09.00-17.00: free guided tour of the Strunjan Visitor Centre at the Strunjan Salt Pans

12.00-16.00: accordion players' meeting
Exhibition of artworks on the theme of kaki/persimmon:
  • In the tent: Kindergarten Morje Lucija Strunjan branch, Kindergarten La Coccinella Piran Strunjan branch, Primary School Lucija Strunjan branch, and Elvira Vatovec Strunjan Training Centre
  • In Talaso Strunjan: artists of the Giuseppe Tartini Piran Italian Community
  • There will also be an exhibition of different types of kaki/persimmon
