The largest indoor ice skating rink by the sea in the former Grando salt warehouse and the switching on of the Christmas lights in the park of the Hotel Kempinski Palace Portorož will mark the grand opening of the festive events in the municipality of Piran on 1 December.

The former salt warehouse Grando will be transformed into a Fairytale land, while the park of Kempinski Palace Hotel will host the traditional Christmas market, where you can taste "All the sweetness of life" with live music. Auditorium Portorož will offer a rich theatre, dance and music programme to suit all tastes. 

The 10th Festival of Sparkling Wines will take place on 26 December, offering a wide selection of sparkling wines, champagnes and culinary delights. The programme will be enriched by a concert by the extravagant violinist Pierpaolo Foti with DJ.

The organisers have already announced the New Year's Eve party in the Tartini Square in Piran, a New Year's jump into the sea, a spectacular fireworks show with a concert on the main square in Portorož, and a surprise concert to round off the festivities.
