Don't miss the first in the series of numerous concerts commemorating the great violinist and composer Giuseppe Tartini. Performing: New Chamber Orchestra Ferruccio Busoni conducted by Artistic Director Massimo Belli and with soloist Salvatore Accardo (violin).

New Chamber Orchestra Ferruccio Busoni was founded in 1965 by Aldo Belli. It is one of the first chamber orchestras founded after the World War II in Italy, and the oldest in the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region. Its ensemble is made up of renowned instrumentalists, winners of international competitions who act as the curators of the musical legacy passed on by their teachers, members of Trio di Trieste and Quartetto Italiano. In 2005 and 2010, they celebrated their 40thand 45th anniversary respectively by organising a number of concerts featuring the world renowned violinist Salvatore Accardo, who this year makes his first appearance in Piran. The orchestra recorded 20 CD’s in partnership with record labels Velut Luna, Concerto Classics, Brilliant Classics, Warner Classics and Amadeus. The CDs include first time recordings of compositions by renowned composers. In 2018 they also recorded two Tartini concerts featuring violinist Laura Marzadori.

Violinist Salvatore Accardo plays solo with leading international orchestras and conductors as a chamber musician with the most renowned musical artists. He made his debut as a conductor in 1987. His repertoire spans from Baroque to contemporary music. Composers such as Sciarrino, Donatoni, Piston, Piazzolla and Xenakis have dedicated his works to him. He was awarded the title of Knight Grand Cross and in 2017 received the Gold Medal in the Arts, at the Kennedy Center in New York.

Organised by Tartini 250.
