ERICH HÖBARTH, VIOLINBorn in 1956 in Vienna; Erich studied with G. Biedermann, F. Samohyl and Sandor Vegh. He was a member of the legendary Vegh-Quartet from 1978-80 and 1980-87 leader of the Vienna Symphony Orchestra. This was combined with teaching violin and chamber music in Vienna and Graz. Since 1987 he has been leader of the Vienna String Sextet and Quatuor Mosaiques a very successful period instrument string quartet. He has also been leader and soloist in Nikolaus Harnoncourt’s Concentus Musicus and in Andras Schiff’s Capella Andrea Barca. From 2000-2011 he has been Musical Director of the Swiss string orchestra Camerata Berne and most recently Professor for violin at the HMT Leipzig since 2013.
ERICH OSKAR HÜTTER, CELLOBorn in 1973, Erich Oskar Hütter studied with Hildgund Posch at the University of Music in Graz and Reinhard Latzko at the Musikakademie in Basel where in 1999 he gained the soloist’s diploma and teachers diploma, both with the highest of distinctions. He then went on to study with the exceptional cellists Janos Starker at Indiana University and Ralph Kirshbaum at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester. As a soloist Erich Oskar Hütter has performed in major concert halls including Musikverein and Konzerthaus (Vienna), Mozarteum (Salzburg), Brucknerhaus (Linz), Beethoven-Haus (Bonn), Royal Castle (Warsaw), Lisinski Hall (Zagreb), Kennedy Center and Library of Congress (Washington).
JANNA POLYZOIDES, PIANOWas born in Graz and lives in Vienna. She studied at the University of Music Graz with Sebastian Benda. Additional influential teachers have included; Rudolf Kehrer, Alexander Jenner, Eliane Richepin and György Kurtág. Her career has taken her to appearances at festivals as Wien modern, Menuhin-Festival Gstaad, Styriarte festival Graz and Wiener Festwochen. She has been invited to many concert halls, for example Cologne Philharmonia, Wigmore Hall London, Warsaw Philharmonia, Mozarteum Salzburg (with the German Chamber Academy Neuss), Konzerthaus and Musikverein Vienna. From 1998-2009 she had an ongoing musical association with the cellist Martin Hornstein and among her chamber music partners also have been artists like Daniel Sepec, Ernst Kovacic, Rainer Honeck, Christian Altenburger, Erich Höbarth, Franz Bartolomey, François Benda, Gerald Pachinger, Matthias Schorn and members of Artis-, Aron- and Gürzenich-Quartet, Klangforum Vienna and the Cologne String Sextet.
