The exhibition "Confess" will be held at the Church of St. Mary of Health in Piran, from June 7 to October 29, 2024. Igor Andjelić, together with Marina Abramović and Aldo Kumar, will present his fourth artistic intervention in this sacred space. The exhibition explores the dynamics of the sacred space with contemporary artistic expressions that replace traditional religious imagery, inviting visitors to delve into a mystical experience.
Andjelić's works challenge the traditional role of art in church spaces, combining photography, sculpture, and performance. The centerpiece of the exhibition, "Confess" (2024), features two golden panels that reflect the subjective nature of perception and challenge the visitor to introspection. Marina Abramović contributes with the piece "Golden Mask" (2009), which offers visitors a deep insight into the process of accepting fate through a video installation, while Aldo Kumar has created sound installations that enrich the space with subtle acoustic textures, adding another dimension to the holistic artistic experience and emphasizing the mystical atmosphere of the sacred space.
"Confess" is not just an exhibition, but an experiential journey that interweaves historical elements and contemporary art to provoke thoughts on one's own identity and social evolution. Come and confront the reflection of your own image in the unique context of this extraordinary installation.
