Also, there are several bars on the beach that offer a lively atmosphere year round. There you can treat yourself to a cup of fresh coffee after a long walk on the beach. Numerous restaurants by the sea invite you to a tasty lunch or dinner. If you like to party then you will be excited about many interesting events.
Portorož has a big heart
Families with small children and couples who look for romantic pampering and relaxation will both feel comfortable in Portorož.
If you like cultural sights and natural attractions then you can count on a trip to neighbouring Piran, nature parks, and a bicycle, car or horse ride to the nearby Istrian villages. Sport enthusiasts can challenge themselves on the tennis courts, sport tracks, in sport halls, pools and in the sea. Businessmen and businesswomen will enjoy the modern conference centres located by the sea, only a step away from relaxation.
In Portorož, we have been throwing the dice of luck for more than a century. You can test your luck in one of the three casinos.
Between Portorož and Piran there are two architectural jewels. These are the historic salt warehouses Magazen, Grando and Monfort, listed as both cultural and historical heritage. Only a few years ago, ships carrying salt were docked at the nearby pier. They were built in the time of Napoleon, during 1820 - 1845.
Nowadays Monfort does not store salt but is an exhibition gallery and is part of the coastal regional galleries for modern art. Here in the salt magazine there is also an exhibit that shows the development of water sports throughout time in Slovenian Istria and you can also take a peek at the world of traditional shipbuilding.
On the hilltop, where the hotel resort Bernardin is situated, you can visit the ruins of a church from the 15th century. Enjoy cocktails on the high terraces of the hotels in Bernardin. From there you can see far out to the open sea, to the Croatian and Italian coast.
Book a room in one of our hotels, choose your apartment and come to Portorož!
