Between Piran and Strunjan, surrounded by undulating hills, lies a cosy small bay called Fiesa. Fiesa is interesting for its two freshwater lakes near the seafront, the smaller one natural and larger one artificial by origin.
The larger lake originates from extensive clay digging necessary for brick production. The lakes are protected as they are important for the preservation of the flora and fauna of this area. In recent years, the bay has turned into a real holiday vacation settlement featuring hotels, camping, vacation homes and even villas. Along the shoreline, there is a path that leads to Piran in only a few minutes.
