At the park with stone sculptures, generated on the Forma Viva Symposium, and beside the Piran harbour in the direct vicinity to the sea, there is in renovated premises of a building constructed in the time of passage from 19th to 20th Century the Herman Pečarič Gallery with permanent exhibition of paintings, drawings and graphics of the Piran artist Herman Pečarič (1908 - 1981). In the Slovenian graphic arts circles, he is recognised as a painter of motifs from Istria in contemporary perceived realistic style. To the town of Piran he bequeathed a memorial collection of his works, which only few years ago acquired its permanent exhibition. It offers a qualitative overview of the artist’s creativity from the very beginnings until the last years of his artistic endeavour. On the ground floor of the gallery there is an occasional exhibition taking place from time to time.
