Thalasso Spa Lepa Vida
In the northern part of the Sečovlje Salina Nature Park, the new and unique outdoor spa centre THALASSO LEPA VIDA SPA was opened in the Spring 2013.
In the THALASSO LEPA VIDA SPA, visitors are offered a special experience of traditional thalassotherapy in a unique natural environment amidst salt pans using natural products, produced in the Sečovlje Salina Nature Park. Salt-pan mud and brine are the most important factors of thalassotherapy, which uses the beneficial effects of these sea products, the sea shore and the climate for boosting the immune system and improving overall health.
In the THALASSO LEPA VIDA SPA complex, several smaller and larger pools are incorporated. The centre is a compound of a sea-salt swimming pool, four smaller pools for brine therapy, and three Kneipp pools with cold and hot sea water. In the central area, there is a sunny terrace for therapies with salt-pan mud.
Salt-pan mud (Fango) wraps:
Salt-pan mud is an Istrian clay enriched with mud. It is a naturally soft, fine-grained homogeneous mass of a blackish colour. Due to its gradual maturing in salt ponds, it contains high concentrations of minerals. It is a prized natural healing agent, used mostly due to its healing and analgesic properties to treat degenerative and inflammatory (rheumatic) diseases of the musculoskeletal system, post-operative conditions and musculoskeletal system injuries, dermatological and gynaecological diseases, and for boosting the body’s general immunity. It is also used for relaxation and beautifying purposes since it accelerates sweat and toxin secretion, and it softens the skin so that it becomes more toned and firm. Therefore, it is also recommended in treatments for cellulite reduction and body transformation.
Brine, mother water – the mother of all waters – is a precious liquid that remains at the bottom of the salt evaporation ponds after hand-harvesting the sea salt. Due to the rich content of minerals like bromine, iodine and magnesium, brine has been highly valued for centuries. A brine bath has analgesic and relaxing properties, and is thus recommended to treat degenerative and rheumatic problems, as well as to facilitate recuperation after injuries and operations of the musculoskeletal system, and changes in the skin (psoriasis). The bath accelerates the blood circulation of the whole body and thus toxin secretions. The skin is more toned and regains its elasticity and youthful appearance.
By scrubbing, dead skin cells are removed so that the skin is softer and smoother. Salt peeling enhances the efficiency of following therapies since it prepares the body to absorb more minerals from the salt-pan mud and brine. Therefore, salt peeling is recommended as an introductory therapy.
Manual body massage
Human touch is one of the most pleasant and efficient ways of relaxing. Western massage techniques have an effect mostly on the muscles, ligaments and tendons, thus improving blood and lymph circulation. Classic massages are used mostly for analgesic and relaxation purposes. We offer various manual body massages for relaxation.
