At the park with stone sculptures, generated at the Forma Viva Symposium, and beside the Piran harbour in the direct vicinity of the sea, housed in the renovated premises of a building constructed during the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, is the Herman Pečarič Gallery with its permanent exhibition of paintings, drawings and graphics by the Piran artist Herman Pečarič (1908–1981).
In Slovenian graphic arts circles, he is recognised as a painter of motifs from Istria in the style of contemporary perceived realism.
To the town of Piran he bequeathed a memorial collection of his works, which only a few years ago acquired its permanent exhibition. It offers a qualitative overview of the artist’s creativity from its very beginnings until the last years of his artistic endeavour. On the ground floor of the gallery, an occasional exhibition also takes place from time to time.
