Forma Viva, this unique collection of stone sculptures under the open sky, is situated in a park on the Seča Peninsula near Portorož. It evolved over the course of a series of international encounters of eminent sculptors, in the form of sculptor symposiums, beginning in the year 1961 upon the initiation of two Slovenian artists, Jakob Savinšek and Janez Lenassi. Throughout 40 years of uninterrupted activity, sculptors from over 30 countries have left to the Coast and Slovenian cultural treasury over 120 stone sculptures, the majority of which stand in Seča Park, while some others are also in parks in Koper, Izola and Piran. Beside the stone workshop in Portorož, you can also visit three other workshops: Kostanjevica na Krki (wood), Ravne na Koroškem (metal) and Maribor (concrete).
Open the whole day! No entrance fee!
